If current trends continue, New Mexico is expected to surpass $2 billion in cannabis sales by the end of the year.
Numbers from the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department’s (NMRLD) Cannabis Reporting Online Portal show the state has collected more than $1.93 billion in cannabis revenue through September 2025 — with monthly revenue coming in at around $40 million, cannabis sales are likely to top $2 billion before December.
“We continue to be encouraged by the business growth and success many businesses in the state have seen,” NMRLD Communications Director Andrea Brown said in an email. “The revenue generated by the regulated cannabis industry is not only beneficial for business owners but helps many small towns across New Mexico make meaningful changes to their communities through the use of the excise tax revenue.”
