This bill creates a new Cannabis Enforcement Bureau overseen by the Superintendent of the Regulation and Licensing Department (RLD)
The bureau will have six law enforcement officers who will have full policing powers and may conduct inspections, either announced or unannounced
New penalties include a fourth-degree felony for destroying cannabis ordered to be left in place or embargoed, and a fourth-degree felony for selling recalled cannabis
New powers include the ability to restrict the movement of cannabis, seizure of cannabis, destruction of cannabis, suspension or revocation of a license, and fines up to $10,000 per violation, and other disciplinary action allowed by law or rule
